The feed rate of cutting tools for CNC lathes is a very important machining data, and the determination of this value has a significant impact on both machining efficiency and machining quality.
Only by changing it fast when it is fast and slow when it is slow can we ensure both machining speed and workpiece machining quality. Today, our CNC lathe manufacturer Haishu Machinery will explain
to you the common methods for determining the appropriate feed rate for CNC lathes.
The rotational speed is calculated based on the cutting line speed required by your cutting tool, and the formula
is s=v * 1000/π Dv. The required cutting line speed is measured in meters per minute, and the maximum cutting diameter is measured in millimeters. The feed rate is determined based on the amount
of cutting per revolution, which is generally easier to determine for lathes. The feed rate per revolution is sufficient. The machining center needs to determine the formula based on the tool. The
selection of cutting tools and the determination of cutting parameters are important aspects of CNC machining technology. And it directly affects the processing quality. 2. The development of
CAD/CAM technology has made it possible to directly utilize CAD design data in CNC machining, especially the connection between microcomputers and CNC machine tools, which enables design, process
planning, and more.
The formula for calculating the feed rate of a speed CNC lathe is multiplied by the feed per revolution=feed per minute 500 * 03=150 feed per minute feed per minute divided by
the speed=feed per revolution 150/500=03 feed per revolution. The formula for calculating the feed rate of a CNC lathe is based on the cutting speed and feed rate of the CNC lathe and machining
center. Answer: The determination of the spindle speed is mainly based on the requirements of the parts. If the surface roughness of the parts is required to be high, the spindle speed can be
increased to 900r/min or even 1000/min per minute. The feed rate per tooth=feed rate per revolution/number of teeth. The feed rate per tooth (i.e. per tool) is determined based on the material of
the machining object, mainly considering the linear velocity that the tool can withstand.
The calculation of cutting amount (Fz value) Fz=F/(S * Z) F: feed rate (CNC lathe feed rate calculation
formula/min) S: speed (rpm) Z: number of edges Fz: (actual feed per edge) Example 1: A standard 5-axis end mill cuts a workpiece at S100 revolutions per minute, and the feed amount (F value) of the
drag plate is 600mm/minute. The actual cutting amount per edge is Fz=F/(S * Z) F=600/(100 * 5) F=12 (mm/rpm). The so-called linear velocity refers to the relative velocity at the contact position
between the blade and the workpiece, which is not related to the feed rate (F). The linear velocity is determined based on the tool, workpiece material, and experience. For a lathe, the tool does
not move (the feed rate can be ignored here).
1. The formula F (feed rate mm/min)=Fz (feed rate per tooth mm/r) * Z (number of tool teeth) * S (tool speed r/min) can be used to calculate. 2. The
rotational speed is calculated based on the required cutting line speed of the cutting tool, with the formula s=1000Vc/π D. The maximum cutting speed (Vc) of a general tool is 50m/min for high-
speed steel; Ultra hard tool 50m/min; Coating tool 25.
The above is the common method for determining the appropriate feed rate for CNC lathes explained by the CNC lathe manufacturer Haishu
Machinery. We hope that the above explanation can be helpful for everyone when using CNC lathes in the future.
